Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation attends 8th Plenary Session of TURKPA
An Azerbaijani delegation led by Speaker of the Parliament Ogtay Asadov has attended the Eighth Plenary Session of TURKPA hosted by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey in Izmir. Speakers at the event included Chairman of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Ogtay Asadov, Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Nurlan Nigmatulin, Chairman of Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Dastanbek Dzhumabekov and Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Binali Yildirim. The council started its work with the handover ceremony of TURKPA Chairmanship from the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Binali Yildirim expressed his gratitude to his Kyrgyz colleague for fruitful work during the TURKPA Chairmanship of the Kyrgyz Republic. The council adopted the TURKPA Strategic Plan for 2019-2021, as well as Activity Plan for 2019. The international conference titled “TURKPA in the First Ten Years and the Future of Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation: New Approaches to Cooperation” was held in Izmir as part of the Eighth Plenary Session of TURKPA. The conference dedicated to the 10th anniversary of TURKPA was attended by the heads of member parliaments, speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly, representatives of international organizations and diplomatic corps, as well as scientists and academicians. Following the screening of the video dedicated to the ten years’ activities of TURKPA, Ogtay Asadov, Chairman of Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Nurlan Nigmatulin, Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Dastanbek Dzhumabekov, Chairman of Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, Binali Yıldırım, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, TURKPA Chairman-in-Office and Laszlo Kover, Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly, addressed the opening session. The opening session was followed by award ceremony where Binali Yıldırım presented TURKPA Medal for Merit to Dastanbek Dzhumabekov. The conference continued its work with three sessions.
 
AFC Ranking: Kyrgyzstan national football team ranks 31st in Asia
Bishkek, Nov. 20, 2018. /Kabar/. The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) presented the ranking of national federations. The list includes football teams from 46 countries. According to the published rating, Kyrgyzstan is on the 31st position. The leader of the ranking is China, Qatar is on the second place, South Korea holds the third place, on the fourth place is the United Arab Emirates, and Iran is on the fifth. Among the countries of Central Asia, Uzbekistan ranks 10th, Tajikistan – 12th, Turkmenistan – 23rd. The rating is based on the results of all the clubs of the association in the Champions League and the AFC Cup. In the October FIFA ranking, the national team of Kyrgyzstan holds the 90th place, Uzbekistan – 94th, Kazakhstan – 117th, Tajikistan – 118th, Turkmenistan – 128th.

Busurmankul Abdibait uulu wins at M-1 Challenge 99 tournament
Bishkek, Nov. 19, 2018. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstani Busurmankul Abdibait uulu won the fight at the M-1 Challenge 99 - Battle of Narts international tournament among professionals in mixed martial arts (MMA). The competition was held on November 17 in the city of Nazran (Russia). Opponent of the sportsman from the Kyrgyz Republic was Dagestan fighter Zalimbeg Omarov. The Russian had competed in the M-1 Global nine times, losing only once, one fight in a draw. The bout took place in three rounds of five minutes. Abdibait uulu became the winner by decision of the judges.
 
TURKSOY celebrates 90th anniversary of Aitmatov in Tokyo
Bishkek, Nov. 19, 2018. /Kabar/. The 90th anniversary of Chyngyz Aitmatov was celebrated in Tokyo, Japan, at the initiative of TURKSOY, the press service of TURKSOY reported. “Having seen so many Kyrgyz and representatives of other Turkic peoples, it seems to me that Aitmatov himself came to Tokyo,” Joshua Fisen said, a resident of Minato ward, Tokyo. The city of Tokyo consists of 23 such wards. In the concert hall of Akasaka-Hall, Adviser of the head of the staff of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, People’s Writer Sultan Raev and Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking countries, Professor Baghdad Amireev thanked TYURKSOY for this unforgettable initiative and noted the important contribution to its holding of the embassies of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan in Japan. People's poet, representative of Kyrgyzstan in TURKSOY Kodogeldi Kultegin and lecturer (acting professor) of the University of Tsukuba in the city of Ibaraki Say Matsushita made a report on the greatness in the works of Chyngyz Aitmatov. The celebration continued with a documentary about Aitmatov and a concert of folk instruments of the Turkic peoples. At the event, the Kyrgyz melody “Sarinzhi-Bokoy” performed by the orchestra and komuzists Irina Suerkulova, a passage from the epos “Kurmanbek” performed by Zhanara Turatova, the melody “Takteke” with kyl-kyyak (Kyrgyz folk instrument) performed by Aynur Berdikulova, performances of the dance group “Symbat” and melody performance of string ensemble “Akak” were presented to the Japanese audience . “Some might ask what makes TURKSOY is doing in Japan, - Secretary General of TURKSOY Dusen Kaseinov said, - because the Japanese are not part of the Turkic world. We in TURKSOY have long been promoting Turkic culture far beyond the borders of the Turkic world. In the past, we already presented our concerts at the UN headquarters in New York and at UNESCO headquarters in Paris.
