‘Bolton’s visit creates favorable conditions for Azerbaijan-US relations’ development’, Hikmat Hajiyev
In his interview with AZERTAC, Deputy Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev has commented the visit of the US President’s National Security Adviser John Bolton to Azerbaijan. The visit of the US President’s National Security Adviser John Bolton creates favorable conditions for the development and further deepening of the relations between Azerbaijan and the US in various directions, Hikmet Hajiyev said. He said that the meeting of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev with John Bolton was constructive and took place in an atmosphere of mutual understanding. “During the visit, there was a wide exchange of views on cooperation in such areas as energy, security and the fight against terrorism,” Hajiyev said. “Positive assessment was also given to the contribution of Azerbaijan to the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan. It was also noted that favorable conditions were created in Azerbaijan for foreign investors, the sides discussed expansion of cooperation in the economic sphere and more active attraction of the US companies and investments to the Azerbaijani market.” Hajiyev added that Ilham Aliyev emphasized the issue of settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Considering that the US is one of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries, the importance of increasing the efforts of all the co-chairs for the early settlement of the conflict and ensuring sustainable peace in the region was noted, Hajiyev said. “During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on issues on the regional and international agenda,” Hajiyev added. “As for regional issues, President of Azerbaijan once again noted that Azerbaijan has business and friendly relations with neighboring countries. As you know, Azerbaijan, guided in interstate relations by high principles of international law, constantly develops relations with neighboring countries, with the exception of Armenia for well-known reasons.”
Qatar News Agency hails relations with Azerbaijan
Director General of Qatar News Agency (QNA) Youssef Ibrahim Al-Maliki has hailed relations with Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC) as he met with Azerbaijani Ambassador to Qatar Rashad Ismayilov. “QNA maintains very good relations with AZERTAC both at bilateral and international levels.” Al-Maliki highlighted regular meetings held between heads of the two agencies. He said QNA’s delegation will take part in the 6th Baku International Humanitarian Forum to be held on October 25-26. Al-Maliki also expressed QNA’s interest in developing cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of information. Ambassador Ismayilov highlighted the Azerbaijani government`s measures to develop media in the country. He emphasized that cooperation and information exchange play an important role in disseminating reliable information about the countries to the public. The ambassador highlighted AZERTAC`s activities in this regard. He said the agency produces news in 7 languages, including Arabic, on a round-the-clock basis.
Bolton says US to continue efforts towards settling Nagorno-Karabakh conflict
The United States will continue its efforts towards settling the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, National Security Adviser John Bolton has told a press conference on the results of his visit to Azerbaijan. On his meeting with President Ilham Aliyev, Bolton said they discussed a wide range of issues, including US-Azerbaijan cooperation, Azerbaijan’s role in the world energy market, fight against terrorism, human trafficking and illicit drug trafficking, as well as human rights, political and economic processes going on in the region, relations with regional countries. Noting that they focused on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the US national security adviser said the settlement of the conflict is also of great importance to the US. Bolton said he will leave Azerbaijan for Armenia to get acquainted with official Yerevan's position on this issue.
IRNA Managing Director: Our close relations with AZERTAC can be a role model for other countries’ media outlets
“Close relations between AZERTAC and IRNA can be a role model for other countries’ media outlets,” said Managing Director of the Iranian IRNA News Agency Seyyed Zia Hashemi as he met with AZERTAC Chairman of Board Aslan Aslanov as part of his visit to Baku to attend the 6th Baku International Humanitarian Forum. Managing Director Hashemi said that IRNA attaches great importance to cooperation with AZERTAC, hailing its influence within the media community. He recalled the Tehran-hosted OANA Executive Board meeting as well as his meeting with OANA president, AZERTAC Chairman of Board Aslan Aslanov on the sidelines of this meeting, and thanked Mr Aslanov for supporting IRNA within international news alliances. “Close relations between AZERTAC and IRNA are an example to other countries’ media organizations. Iran-Azerbaijan relations are developing in line with the will of the both countries’ presidents. I am confident that the friendly relations between our two countries and peoples will continue strengthening. Our agencies also do their utmost to contribute to the development of this cooperation,” Zia Hashemi said. IRNA Managing Director described the issues to be discussed during the 6th Baku International Humanitarian Forum as particularly pressing. He hailed the importance of a breakout session on “Disinformation Policy – a Threat to Stability in the Modern World” to be organized by AZERTAC as part of the forum. He noted that both Azerbaijan and Iran suffer from fake news spread by enemy forces. He emphasized the necessity of joining efforts in order to minimize the impact of fake news. Chairman of the Board of AZERTAC Aslan Aslanov hailed the fact that thanks to the Azerbaijani and Iranian presidents’ joint efforts the bilateral relations between the two countries are constantly developing. He described Iran as a close neighbor and friendly country to Azerbaijan. “We follow the news concerning Iran with great sensitivity. Azerbaijan and Iran have ancient historical ties and common culture. National news agencies of both countries play an important role in deepening relations between our nations,” AZERTAC Chairman of Board Aslan Aslanov said. He hailed Azerbaijan`s successful and rapid development in all areas, saying it has become a venue for discussing global challenges. “Great attention is paid to the development of media in our country. Azerbaijan today presents its models and brands to the world in various fields.” Aslan Aslanov also praised AZERTAC’s and IRNA’s mutual support within international news organizations. They noted that AZERTAC and IRNA have always enjoyed excellent relations and this relationship contributes to further expansion of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran in the field of information. The sides described the misinformation policy as a serious threat to global peace and stability. Aslan Aslanov highlighted the Armenian lobby’s regularly spreading false news about Azerbaijan and Armenia’s policy of aggression against Azerbaijan. He said the Armenians commit atrocities in the occupied Azerbaijani lands, and destroy Azerbaijan’s religious and national monuments.
Kyrgyz films to be shown in Moscow

By the way, Andrei Konchalovsky and Larisa Shepitko made their debut at the Kyrgyzfilm,” it was reported. Muscovites will be shown such works as “Znoi” (Russian: Зной, lit.: Heat) - Shepitko’s debut, shot based on the story of Chyngyz Aitmatov, “Potomok Belogo Barsa” (Russian: Потомок белого барса, lit.: Descendant of the White Leopard”, which received the Silver Lion in Venice in 1985.
