Dushanbe, June 1, 2018. / Kabar /. Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev met with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev. The bilateral meeting was held in Dushanbe as part of the meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of Government. Abylgaziev noted that the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic will continue to build its relations with the Russian side on the principles of mutual understanding and full trust. "It is gratifying to note the positive dynamics of the development of the level of trade and economic cooperation between our countries. According to our data, the trade turnover in 2017 compared to 2016 grew by 9.2%, amounting to $ 1.442.8 million," he said. - At the same time, we face the task not only to maintain positive dynamics, but also to take measures to achieve pre-crisis foreign trade indicators, which in 2012 reached $ 2 billion, despite the slowdown in bilateral trade in the reporting period - by 2.2%, an increase the rate of Kyrgyz exports was 45.1%. " PM Abylgaziev also said that the Seventh Kyrgyz-Russian interregional conference on the topic "The role of digital transformation in the economic integration of Kyrgyzstan and Russia" is expected to be held in Chelyabinsk on June 15, and in the beginning of July the 10th meeting of the Kyrgyz-Saint Petersburg intergovernmental commission is planned. "I am confident that these measures will affect the indicators of mutual trade and the volume of Russian investment in the Kyrgyz economy," the prime minister said. Abylgaziev noted with satisfaction that the decision of the Russian side to create a separate Ministry for Digital Development in the future will allow sharing experience in the implementation of joint projects. In turn, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev noted the dynamically developing bilateral Russian-Kyrgyz relations. He stressed that Russia is one of the leading trade partners of Kyrgyzstan. "One of the key areas of economic cooperation is energy. We will do our best to ensure that the tasks set for the governments of the two countries are translated into reality," Medvedev said.
