Bishkek, Nov. 19, 2018. /Kabar/. The 90th anniversary of Chyngyz Aitmatov was celebrated in Tokyo, Japan, at the initiative of TURKSOY, the press service of TURKSOY reported. “Having seen so many Kyrgyz and representatives of other Turkic peoples, it seems to me that Aitmatov himself came to Tokyo,” Joshua Fisen said, a resident of Minato ward, Tokyo. The city of Tokyo consists of 23 such wards. In the concert hall of Akasaka-Hall, Adviser of the head of the staff of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, People’s Writer Sultan Raev and Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking countries, Professor Baghdad Amireev thanked TYURKSOY for this unforgettable initiative and noted the important contribution to its holding of the embassies of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan in Japan. People's poet, representative of Kyrgyzstan in TURKSOY Kodogeldi Kultegin and lecturer (acting professor) of the University of Tsukuba in the city of Ibaraki Say Matsushita made a report on the greatness in the works of Chyngyz Aitmatov. The celebration continued with a documentary about Aitmatov and a concert of folk instruments of the Turkic peoples. At the event, the Kyrgyz melody “Sarinzhi-Bokoy” performed by the orchestra and komuzists Irina Suerkulova, a passage from the epos “Kurmanbek” performed by Zhanara Turatova, the melody “Takteke” with kyl-kyyak (Kyrgyz folk instrument) performed by Aynur Berdikulova, performances of the dance group “Symbat” and melody performance of string ensemble “Akak” were presented to the Japanese audience . “Some might ask what makes TURKSOY is doing in Japan, - Secretary General of TURKSOY Dusen Kaseinov said, - because the Japanese are not part of the Turkic world. We in TURKSOY have long been promoting Turkic culture far beyond the borders of the Turkic world. In the past, we already presented our concerts at the UN headquarters in New York and at UNESCO headquarters in Paris. Today, with the name of Chyngyz Aitmatov, we are presenting our culture in Japan for the first time. With the help of all our embassies”. In Tokyo, there will also be a large-scale concert, timed to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the founding of TURKSOY.
